Credit scores range from 300 to 850 and higher is better.

Generally, a credit score of 720 or higher is considered an excellent credit score and applicants may qualify for credit cards with no annual fee, a low APR, and generous rewards. Depending on income, credit limits can be very ample.

A credit score in the high-600s and up is generally considered to be good, and applicants may qualify for credit cards with no annual fee, an average APR, and some rewards. Depending on income, credit limits on new accounts may be several thousand dollars.

A credit score above 620 is considered average, and applicants may qualify for a credit card with some benefits - for example, they may qualify for a rewards card that has an annual fee, or for a no annual fee card that has a higher interest rate. Depending on income, credit limits may start at $500 up to a couple thousand dollars.

A credit score below 620 is considered sub-prime, and applicants may find few creditors will that issue them a credit card - the cards they do qualify for are likely to offer no perks, have a substantial annual fee, and punishingly high APRs. Credit limits may be as low as $200.
