Stick it to America when times get tough..is that there motto?

Reviewer: natalie Date: July 18, 2009 Rating:

I have had my credit card for a year and a half, I always made 3xs the payment of the amount due each month. Since January they have raised my intrest to around 29 % never was late and always made more than min payments. A few months ago they changed my payment date, with out a notice, yes it was on the bill but there were no special notes about the change and it was almost 10 days earlier than usual, I do all payments online so I was suprised to see that I was late on my next statement and that they were charging me a $45 late fee, I called to see if I could get it waived considering I had never been late and that they moved my payment date up. They said "no, nothing they could do "and made it look as if I was stupid for not noticing the payment date had changed.

I had lost my job awhile back but this did not effect my payments, I have always (even with little unemployment benifets) made ontime and more than min payments. I asked about there insurance for life events and such, I am due to have a baby in August, I signed up thinking I could use the 4 months offered by the insurance to wave my payments and intrest until I was able to find a job. I still pay my monthly payments and am on time along with now paying the insurance.

THE FINAL BLOW: I recieved a letter today saying that they were cancelling my card due to one of three reasons(most likely the my credit report from experium...they were medical bills).

What am I to do with a baby on the way, living in a 15% unemployment rated state, and not yet done with college? I know they cancelled me because the found that I would be utilizing the insurance plan I purchased and would be relieved of making payments for four months.

HOW IS THIS LEGAL? How is this kind of bussiness allowed to continue taking advatage of Americans?

Reviewers are Right they are thieves.

Reviewer: Frank Florio Date: June 29, 2007 Rating:

I have excellent credit. Had Chase platinum for 20 years. Last 3 years they started raising rates for no reason. Then payments I sent well in advance somehow posted a day late. Result $40 fee. Finally, they found a late payment from 4 years back on a Macy's card my wife opened and put me on as a joint holder. They raised my interest rate to 29.99% with NO notice. They said they sent a letter but I never got it. Wouldn't lower it despite complaints, letters. I have several other cards and they never even tried to rip me off like this. I paid off and closed account...they didn't care. The final insult: they said my final payment was posted a day late (sent 8 days before due) and charged me a $40 fee. This bank is the WORST. The other reviewers are telling the truth. STAY away from Chase.

Reviewer: Sonlee Date: February 23, 2007 Rating:

I had $25000 Balance transfer from Chase for 3.99% . Avg finance charge use to be $75 a month. One day I had one day late pay month and they raised my interest rate to 27.99%. Finace charge now at $583 a month. Luckily I had equity line and took care this THEIF. What a THIEF. Don't ever be fooled and try to do balance transfer with them. they will set you up with very low interest rate.

Reviewer: PAUL Date: August 10, 2005 Rating:

I transfed to a chase bank one account with 0 % for 6 mos, well I never missed a payment in the year and half that I have been with them, never even been late on a payment, and in june 05 I made a $4'600 payment, well there thanks was to raise my interest rate from 8.9 to 29.9%.they just got all but about 200.00 that was owed them,so there was no excuse to raise it.when my wife called they said we were a risk.to me that is just another way to rip off they customers.
