Title: Approved With A Great Credit Line

Review: I've been with Citi for about 15 years...started out with the Citi Platinum Select Visa and did a product change in 2007 to the Citi AAdvantage American Express.
I applied for this card wanting to have another rewards card because I travel a lot. Did not receive an instant decision. I received an email about 3 days after applying online saying "Congratulations, you've been approved and your card is on its way".....CL of $9,000.
I only had 1 or 2 inquiries and they were over a year old, credit score around 700 on Equifax and Transunion...no lates, no BK, no negative information on my reports.
I'm looking forward to using the card and racking up some serious hotel rewards to use for vacations.
Title: Declined

Review: Received a preapproval to "complement" my Citi Aadvantage American Express. They pulled Experian and I was declined for "too many accounts showing balances." I guess all of my balances under $100 on store cards made them nervous. I'll reapply in 6 months. The rewards look pretty good and I stay at Hilton properties 5-6 times per year. Not an instant decline. Received a call from underwriter the next day to verify identity and income.
Asked to be considered for the non-signature Gold VISA, but no go.
Title: Quick App & Approval

Review: I already have a Amex and 2 MasterCardツ痴 and plenty of store & gas cards from Citi but never took a Visa. I got a pre-approval online while paying my bill. The application was only 5 questions. 30 seconds later I was approved for 20k 14.99%APR no AF. I called customer service and told them I leave for China on the 11th and needed the card by then, so they agreed to overnight it, should have it today will update over all experience.

Title: Hilton Rewards Visa; Not That Great
Date Reviewed: 2007-08-14 12:38:31 | Recommended?: Yes
Review: The Hilton Visa is a good deal, but not a great deal. Two points per $ sounds good; and the "teaser" of 15,000 points being "enough for two free nights" is very misleading. I cannot find ANY Hilton family hotels anywhere I want to stay that require less than 20,000 points for ONE night; most require 25,000. This means spending $10,000 to $12,500 to get a room valued at about $100. That's a 1% return or less. Typical for ANY credit card reward offer. Check out the Hilton Amex card; THREE points per dollar and no annual fee.
