Title: Good Card
Date Reviewed: 2011-09-17 14:31:58 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: BofA may have many problems with customer service, etc. THEY ARE AWESOME ON FRAUD DETECTION! After applying, they had been litering my mailbox with offers, I decided to take advantage of the Cash rewards since I PIF each month. Approved instantly for $10,000. Hour later call from my unlisted, unknown number a cell phone I use for my fraud alerts not on the particular one BofA pulled, but TU. How they managed to get that is beyond me! Asked me for information only I WOULD KNOW! DL number, what st. Is next to mine, how old and when is my mothers DOB, and an email address that may have been used by me 3 years ago. WOW that is really protection! I like that, most would find that bad etc. I like when banks PREVENT fraud then when it happens. Prevention is what I believe is the best solution. Aside from that nice CL, CS seemed to be very nice and helpful plan on using it alot and PIF each month before statement closes and get my CASH for stuff I already charge on a diff card and get nearly nothing in return! Hopefully good relationship with BOFA...

Title: Approved But Not Notified
Date Reviewed: 2011-09-24 12:56:59 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card sometime 2 weeks ago, I got a notice that my application would have to be reviewed by an account specialist. I figured I wouldn't be approved, not sure what my credit score but it isn't bad. I applied for the PenFed Platinum Rewards card twice this year and have been denied. But I go and check my Bank of America account online, and there it is, the AmEx is listed as one of my accounts with a $7500 CL! I still haven't received a notice yet, and have no clue what my APR will be. Scores: EX 728 EQ 728 TU 712

Title: Applied. Strong-Armed. Won.

Review: On the same day I applied for this card, I simultaneously requested a CLI on a 4 year old secured card. (I had recently learned that BOA only reviews secured accounts once - 6 months after opening the account, and at that point, they decide whether or not to upgrade your account to US/CLI. Otherwise you're sweet under the rug.) Obviously, since 4 years have passed, my account didn't make the cut after 6 months, so 2 weeks ago, I applied for a CLI (HI) at the same time I applied for a new LOC w/ THIS card. Both were approved. This card was approved for $7,500. The secured card went from a measly $300 to $5,000. Since both apps were w/ BOA, only one HI shows on my CR's. There's more to this story, but it's just too much to type on my iPad touch-screen KB. Either way, I was approved and I negotiated... A credit analyst and I played give-and-take with my CL's until I was a happy camper - within their campgrounds. But I hung up feeling good about things. After all, my CS's are low-to-mid 700's! This card has 0% for 12 months - which almost seems like a gift bc this is BOA after all. UNFORTUNATELY, one thing mr. Credit analyst & I did not discuss/agree upon was the APR after the intro. It's a whopping 20.99% - just like Chase Freedom. (No thanks!) But at least I don't have to worry about until next September. (BTW, their iPad/iPhone app sucks for CC holders.) -PS

Title: Product Change !
Date Reviewed: 2011-10-26 11:53:07 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Originally opened the account 7/2010. It was the American Diabetes Association AMEX card. Started with $2,000 CL & Scores were mid 700's and apr was a terrible 20.99% ! This summer I had it changed to a visa since other Visa Sig card was upgraded to Accelerated Cash Rewards AMEX. Earlier in the year got a CLI of $1,000. This summer got a letter to call them about an apr reduction to 10.99% . Yesterday I called to ask about a product change to this card. Because I like the cash rewards better than Worldpoints. They said ok without any hesitation. Now for the big supprise ! They told me that I was to receive a apr reduction to 9.9%. I asked if it was because of the product change. They said no it was because I deserved it ! When I heard that I laughed ! But hey I'll take it Thanks B of A ! As usual with my experience with B of A their customer service is excellant. Easy to understand and very polite. They said the card would arrive in two to three weeks. It's not the signature version of the card. Which is fine with me. I don't know why they've been so good to me! Maybe they think I'm somebody else! LOL!!

Title: Finally Some Of The Prime Credit Cards
Date Reviewed: 2012-04-12 10:18:39 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Been rebuilding credit for past 3 years gone from 500 to 701 and down to 675. Current scores are (Eq. 675, TU 651, and Exp 661) This Bank of America card is probably what I consider a prime credit card (ini. $500). I also have JCPenney (ini. $400 increased to $800 after 4 months), Old Navy ($400 increased to $800), Belk ($150 ini, increased to $650 in 6 months), Wal-Mart ($600 ini, just opened in December), Amazon store card (ini. $700). Also have Cap 1 ($500 ini.) and the Orchard card (ini. $300 increased to $700 over the past 4 years). Just hoping for increase in walmart card because that one is just essential, gas prices at those stations (where available) are cheapest in town. I closed out Best Buy (high interest) and Household cards in Jan.

Review: First time, even second time they declined me I understood. Been rebuilding for 9 months. I have a Discover / Orchard/ Capitol One/ Penny's/Amazon/Walmart- all paid on time. They pulled Equifax- score is 725 ish- no baddies. Lady stated I didnt have enough credit history. Also should mention I have a checking account with BOA (in great standing) and a savings account (2G's). I wont be trying with them again.

Title: BOA Accelerated Rewards AMEX Approval

Review: Approved for $5,000 after verifying HH income and identity. I was skeptical because of my experience with BOA's erratic behavior in the past, but I love the rewards my husband gets on his card and he likes the concierge service, and I'm burned out with AMEX. My scores at the time, EQ 720 and TU 726.

Title: Wonderful
Date Reviewed: 2012-05-23 12:53:53 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I sent in my $300 dollars in December for this card and rec'd it when capital one denied me. Crazy I know. I am hoping come this december I get upgraded. I love this card because I can easily pay the bill online from my checking account as I bank with them as well. So far this card is wonderful .

Review: Just got my denial letter for this card, two weeks after I applied on line.At the time my bureau scores were at 702 across the board and a Fico score of 686.The reason for the denial is, and I am not making this up.you have sufficient credit accounts and sufficient balance open on these accounts..........WHAT? I guess being responsible with my credit caused the denial........GO FIGURE. Oh by the way I got approved for chase amazon visa the same week, but that is another review for another day.

Title: BOA Secured Card Good Or Bad?
Date Reviewed: 2013-01-10 07:42:54 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Hi FG, Well this is my story with BOA Secured Card. On DEC-2011 I got a $500 BOA Secured card for my wife to build credit. $39 AF with this card and 20.24 APR. I used it for every thing and paid it off every week and keep a low balance 50 or under. It did help her credit within the year as she got Cap one $500 ($750 now), Chase Freedom $500, Macy's $300($1000 now) and Discover 2500. You can upgrade after 12 months for a unsecured card and get your money back. Well here is my problem with them on Dec-2012 I should upgrade. Well I got sick and I couldn't make it in DEC-2012. So came yesterday and went to the bank and called the credit department. We talked about the card and told them I wanted to upgrade to a Cash Rewards card. They told me Ok we can do that and started the process. I asked if there is an anuual fee they said yes because the card when we applied had it. I said OK Online it said no annual fee, how come I had to pay for it. They said because the card already had it we cant waive it. They said you can apply for a new card and get a non annual fee. I told them can you back date it where on the credit report says I got from DEC-11, they said no. I said cancel the card its not worth it for me for an annual fee of 39, Chase and Discover don't charge an annual fee for there cards and I get cash back. They canceled the card and said in 10 days I should receive my money. I went and paid it off right away. To me cash back card are not worth any annual fee. If it was a rewards card like a miles or points card its worth it. I would happily pay 95 for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card or 65 for the SPG Amex card they are worth it, Cash back not so much. Is BOA secured good or bad? Yes it is good card as I got great prime cards out of it. It does help your credit and they do report to all 3 CRA. There customer service is good and online is good too. But to me its not worth it to keep them for a 39 AF, I would go to Chase or Discover.

Title: Beware Of Bank Of America
Date Reviewed: 2013-06-03 17:27:09 | Recommended?: No

Review: I used to be a huge fan of BofA credit cards. I actually have 2 of their signature Visa cash rewards cards. I was given a generous line of credit as I have a high credit score and a fairly high salary. I fell for their trap with a balance transfer offer of 1.9% APR. So I transferred about $6000 using this offer. Then, with no warning whatsoever, my line of credit went from $19,000 to $450 under my current balance. In other words, I was now, with no warning or fault of mine, over my line of credit! In talking with an account rep, she admitted I was a customer for a long time and that I had an impeccable history with BofA but the transfer triggered an automatic audit and the computer dropped my CL. Now, not only has my utilization % gone up, this card is now to be reported as "maxed out." Very, very slimy. I will keep the cards open, but in the sock drawer they go. Horrible experience. I used to speak highly of this card too.

Title: Eh....
Date Reviewed: 2013-06-15 17:07:30 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card and got a "we need more time to verify your information". I got a call from a credit analyst and his message was very nice. I called back and got a cranky one which declined my application. This is a newly established card and I guess the credit analyst that had called me the first time I am thinking my application was in his queue because 2 days later the card showed up in my online banking session. I am assuming they are wanting to approve applicants on this one since they need to get the word out there. This is a new card to the market. CL is $3,000, lowest of all my cards. I guess ill try it out. They pulled experian which mine is at 709.

Title: Approved!
Date Reviewed: 2013-08-12 15:09:31 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I got a pre-approval for this card a few months ago but never decided on it. Today, I decided to pull the trigger and apply online. I got an instant approval online today for a CL of $6k and they said that my card will arrive in 1 week. The only thing I am unsure of is the interest rate as it was not stated on my approval. My EQ score is 750. Some of the perks with this card include: 1% cash back on purchases everywhere, every time, 2% on groceries and 3% on gas for the first $1,500 in combined gas and grocery purchases each quarter. No annual fee. $100 cash rewards bonus if you make at least $500 in purchases in the first 90 days. Bank of America customers also get a 10% customer bonus if you redeem your rewards directly to your BofA account(s).

Title: Pre-approved By Mail.
Date Reviewed: 2013-12-02 16:26:46 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Got a pre-approved mailer for it so I figured I'd might as well take a chance. Was just approved for Discover IT so I was feeling brave at the moment, I guess. Anyway, I was instantly approved online for $2500....0% APR for 15 months and 14.99% after. My EX file contains 3 PR's, an old charge off due to drop any day now, a paid collection account, and an old unpaid collection that I'm fighting. I also burned Fleet/BoA in 2002 so I guess they don't blacklist either. 2nd Prime card in one weekend...so excited. I think I'm done for now!

Title: Approved After Phone Call!
Date Reviewed: 2013-12-20 10:50:33 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card after my AMEX blue application and was counter offered their 99/500 card, I declined the offer and closed out my screen. Last night when I got home I got a letter in the mail inviting me to once again apply for the 99/500 card, I went ahead and called their underwriting department and spoke with a very nice gentleman and explained the reason I was calling, and didnt think I should have to secure a credit card on those terms. He agreed with me and looked over my credit report, he praised me for such an outstanding job I have been doing, and approved the application! Terms are as follows, $5,000.00 credit line, 0% for 12 months, and a variable APR of 12.99% there after, which is their best rate! He also told me my Experian FICO score was 738! It always pays to recon and try once more, in my case it worked out very well as I was already hit with an inquiry.

Review: Applied and instantly approved back in August. I live in Portland, so Alaska Airlines happens to have the most convenient flights usually. They flight direct to Hawaii. The 25K bonus miles stacked great with my already established miles account. The card offers a $99 companion ticket annually. My score was around 751, approved for $8,500. This is my first airline card.

Review: Had a BOA Visa in 2007 but had to file BK-13. I previously applied about 2 years ago and was declined, however today I gave it a shot for one card, the screen came up and stated I could not be approved for that particular offer but they offered me a card whereas I had to give $99, I was shocked and of course immediately accepted, they debited my account and checked my email stating I was approved and will receive the card in 7-10 business days. This has been a long road but I've learned a valuable lesson. All the cards that I lost during the BK with the exception of AMEX I have gotten back. I

Title: Great Card
Date Reviewed: 2016-05-16 19:40:54 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was offered the secured card several times where I had to make a minimum deposit of $300 about three times and three times I rejected the offer. A month after I received a another offer. Deposit $99 and get $500 dollar credit limit. This time I accepted it and got approved. My main problem was when I tried to use it for the first time. Bank of America Locked my credit card on my very first purchase because of suspicious activity which pissed me off at first but, after a five minutes, of cursing at BoA in my mind, I got to think about how secure and safe my money was since I do have a savings and checking account with them. Good thing though.... Discover had me covered that day. I called Bank of America right away and the problem was resolved. I was told that there was a problem with their system and the customer service guy continuously apologized to me so, I just let it go and went on with my day. All in all... This is a good credit card to have. This one issue has been the only one I have had with Bank of America in years so. It's all good

Title: One Of My Favorites
Date Reviewed: 2016-09-29 15:13:16 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I've had this card since September 2014. It is one of my favorites. You earn 3% cash back at gas stations, 2% at grocery stores and 1% everywhere else. The redemption rate for cash back starts at $25 but you can set it up to auto-redeem every time you've earned at least $25. I use it mostly for gas and small purchases and earn about $10-15 dollars per month, so every other month I earn about $25-35 dollars back. Another cool feature is that if you redeem your cash back into a Bank of America checking or savings account, you earn an additional 10% on top of your earnings, so $25 becomes $28, and so on. I started with a $1,500 credit limit and about a year after having the card I was asked to confirm my annual income and automatically received a CLI to $3,000. One bad thing is that Bank of America doesn't allow you to set up external bank accounts to pay your credit card bill with, so basically you have to either pay using a BofA account or use your external account's bill pay. I don't mind it so much since I have a checking account with them, but I do pay my regular bill using another bank's bill pay. Oh, here's a little tip, you don't earn the 10% cash back if you redeem your cash back to make a payment to the credit card, but if you have a checking account with them just redeem to the checking account and then make a payment to the credit card. Customer service has been great, but really, I've had no issues with this card.

Title: 16 Months No CLI
Date Reviewed: 2018-10-03 08:10:50 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Started rebuilding with a secured card at 500 CL. I inquired about an increase via Skype after much more than a year and was denied. I was not informed a HI would be made which soured my feelings towards this bank. Ive come feel BoA is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The Visa and MC networks provide very good service the times I have contacted them and problems were resolved quickly. BoA needs to learn from those to giants of the credit card game. Yes, I'm just a little guy but what's right is all I ask.
