Title: Citi Platinum

Review: Received multiple pre-approval request in mail for months, finally deceided to take them up on the offer so that I could transfer some of my high interest rate cards over to no interest for 12 mths. Well low and behold them denied me. I have been doing my homework and looking at all the forums to see what FICO score they would take and mine was 651 which should have been good enough, but evidently not. Now it has lowered my FICO score to 649. So thanks a lot Citi!

Title: CLI!!!

Review: This is my oldest tradeline account. I've had this card since 1984, when it was called the "Choice" card back then... Then converted in the late 80's to Citi Preferred Gold card... Then was converted at my request to the Dividend Select card around 2004. Through thick and thin, this is the one bank that I have stuck with, probably because I worked for them for years. Anyway, logged on to pay my bill in full Thurs. Noticed auto CLI from $18,300 to $21K. Wowee!! Citi rules with me, and am going for Amex with them in next couple months. Citi has always stood by me when I needed them.

Title: Good At The Beginning . . .

Review: My Citi Dividend Platinum Select card WAS my go to card whenever Amex wasn't accepted by a merchant or store. Initially, it had non-tiered rewards where you earned full cash back + bonus in everyday categories. Recently, Citi has scaled its rewards back, only offering 5% in bonus categories for the first 6 months. While the card is standard in terms of features, I find it sometimes difficult to deal with. Here are some highlights: 1) Customer service calls routinely go overseas. I always end up spending more time on the phone when this happens (and I am reluctant to ever ask questions that might be considered "off the script"). Occasionally these reps do not inspire confidence. I called one day to inquire about a replacement card I was expecting that hadn't yet arrived. Because I didn't receive it, he determined that my account needed to be suspended, voided the replacement card, and expedited me another card AT MY EXPENSE (which still took 2-3 days to arrive). In the meantime, my existing card no longer worked, even though he assured me that it would until I activated the new one. When I finally was able to get someone competent on the phone, she told me that the other rep shouldn't have suspended my account because the replacement I was waiting for had not yet even been sent out. This information, she noted, should have been clearly available to the other representative. 2) I had a problem with online access once and was a few days late on a payment. Not only did they charge me a $40 late fee, but my rewards for that cycle were voided as well. I have had experiences with other cards where payments only a few days late haven't resulted in any consequences. In general you should always pay on time, but if circumstances prevent you from doing so, Citi is less sympathetic than other credit cards. 3) The consensus among my close circle of friends and family is that Citi's credit limits tend to be less generous than some other banks. After requesting an increase, however, CitI did come close to matching my higher lines.

Title: Credit Limit DECREASE
Date Reviewed: 2008-04-08 01:29:35 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: My girlfriend and I were on vacation in Santa Barbara when her card was declined. After we were connected to India, the guy said something intelligence-insulting like 'we looked at your history, and it doesn't look like you needed all that credit' It was decreased from 3,000 to 1,000 with absolutely no notice. Her credit is a lot better than mine (700+), and she plans to try to get a hold of a real account rep soon.

Title: Approved!!!

Review: Hi everyone, I got another approval. Credit limit $5300. I do not know what the interest rate is yet. I just Love CitiBank.

Title: Approved

Review: Approved with a 1K CL... Pulled eq (the only one w/o the stupid library collections) I got lucky I guess. From what I hear from others this is a hard card to get so I plan on keeping this a pif card. Good luck to all those wanting to apply... -took about a month to get the card- it was not an instant approval and I had to fax in ss card & proof of address. BTW, I don't know what my eq was @ the time but my ex was a 639

Title: A Real Value Card
Date Reviewed: 2008-01-01 02:54:47 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This card has nice mix of cash back rewards, reasonable interest rate and I got approved with a generous credit line. It also has great additional benefits and 1mil travel insurance coverage. They asked to see some domestic bills and address proof. The FICO requirement is more like 710-720 and not 756 as stated. The customer service during card activation was terrible though the guy tried to sell me whatever extra services they had.

Title: GREAT Card
Date Reviewed: 2007-12-31 18:38:55 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have this card since 1988 ouch. I have NEVER had a problem with Citibank. The original credit line was $15,000 back in 1988 and is now $37,500. They offer a low apr rate if you carry a balance. They always send offers for 3.9% lifetime balance transfers, AND they send you a cash back refund once a year for using your card. What a great card. BofA and Chase should learn from them. OK shutting up now

Title: Was Denied Twice
Date Reviewed: 2007-07-17 02:39:59 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card on several occasions and was always denied. Anything Citibank represents is sort of difficult for approval. Furthermore, I applied as a student with a good gpa and was still denied.

Title: I Got Approved
Date Reviewed: 2007-07-06 02:02:45 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Applied and within a wk found out that I was approved with a Fico score of 688. I honestly thought I wasn't going 2 get approved due too them declining me in the past.
