Title: DENIED AFTER REVIEW
Date Reviewed: 2010-07-24 04:57:59 | Recommended?: No

Review: Since it's harder now than ever for young adults like me, I'm 19, to get a credit card. I have 4 other cards, VERY financially responsible, never missed a payment and always have paid more than the minimum. So I figured I'd start a secured card to help boost my scores even more, after entering my collateral ($300) the account went into review. I waited and waited, after 6 hours. I call the application hotline to find out that I was denied for: 1. Length of Credit History (I have 1.5 years of history) 2. Balances Are High (Bad, I know) My scores when I applied: Equifax: 610 Experian: 592 TransUnion: 612

Title: Disappointed...
Date Reviewed: 2010-10-27 13:16:25 | Recommended?: No

Review: Let me begin by saying that this was my very first credit card I had ever received. It was the Wells Fargo Platinum STUDENT Visa. They started me out at $700 credit limit and witin a year I was up to $1500 and a 13.9% APR. I NEVER missed a payment and was never late. About 5 years later I applied for a CLI and they said that 1,500 was as high as they could go on a STUDENT card. I would have close this card and apply for a Wells Fargo Platinum NON COLLEGE card. So, I did just that since I had nothing bad to say about Wells Fargo. I was approved for with a $3,000 CL but my rate jumped to 24.99 APR on purchases with a 757 FICO score. Believe me, I don't use it much as the rate is very high and every time I call to request a lower rate they say "you currently have the lowest rate available for this account". But, I will not close the account because it will take away from my "Total" avail credit which may lower my FICO score.

Title: Great Card To Have

Review: This card was easy to get. As long as your credit score is over 700 your fine. The rewards are awsome.

Title: Approved After Phone Call

Review: I was planning on doing a little shopping and I love Dillards, so I decided to go ahead and apply online. It popped up with a "you will receive a decision in..." so I thought it was probably a denial. I've been reading this website a lot lately, so I thought I would call and see if I could speak with a person. To my surprise, I answered a few identity questions and was approved for a Dillards Amex with a $700 limit. I am going to take great care of this account and make it to 700 finally! Thanks for all the great advice, it's really inspired me to take charge of my credit. EQ 644 EX 661 TU 664

Review: Deposited $500 last feb. Stopped by wachovia branch last wk. Bank manager said he would check for me, told me wells fargo would not unsecure any cards right now until they see how the new credit card law affects secured cards. One wk. Later received a letter from wells fargo congratulating me one managing. My credit card, so they raised my credit limit to $700 but my card is still secured. What's up with that?

Title: Quick Approval & Fast Card Delivery
Date Reviewed: 2011-04-09 00:39:42 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Got a pre-approval offer since I bank with them. Filled out a few brief questions. Got the usual 7 to 10 day email. First thing in the morning received a call from the credit department. Confirmed my identity. Approved over the phone. Credit line $9,500 low compared to some of my other credit cards but I guess it’s not bad for my first trade line with WF Apr 11% 0% 6 months on purchases and balance transfer. TU 780 EX 805 EQ 790 I have not been a fan of Wachovia now Wells Fargo however I will see what this card does over a year and decide if it’s a keep in my wallet or toss in the sock drawer!

Title: Wells Fargo Signature Visa Card
Date Reviewed: 2011-09-27 09:59:25 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was invited to apply since I bank at Wells Fargo and was approved with a $7,000 CL. Great benefit is 0% APR to start off with and the balance transfer fees are attractive compared to others. I'm done applying for cards for a few years but glad I was able to get my overall credit line available significantly higher which helps with my FICO score and utilization. I keep the credit line available clear and have been fortunate enough to pay off the balances each month. I've found a way to rotate the cards each month to make sure I'm using them so the CC company doesn't close the account.

Title: In Process Of Being Unsecured.
Date Reviewed: 2011-11-10 16:44:42 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: October 2010 I had no credit at all. Didn't use credit and had no fico score to pull since my report was blank. I applied for 2 secured cards to get history. One was Capital One that I put in $200 and the other was Wells Fargo Secured Visa since I bank with them. I put $500 on this card at the time and was approved. Fast forward to May and I had a FICO score of 720 on EQ from myFico since I could actually have a score after 6 months of history. I went a little crazy and applied for 6 new accounts. My score dropped to 687 with all the new Inquiries , accounts and drop in AAoA's. I planned on waiting awhile to apply again but my car was dying in July so I had to get a new one and was approved. Score dropped again to 648 with the new account. Anyways, now that I hit 1 year on my WF Secured I received a congratulations letter from them saying I'm being graduated to unsecured Platinum with no AF. I don't currently have the new card but my online accounts on WF shows 2 CC's with the same history and CL with the new one having "activate your card" link on it. My current TU Fico is now 740. I have better cards now then the platinum but the Secured WF Visa is what started it all and now unsecured with no AF I'll keep it for the history.

Review: I bank with Wells for my checking and savings. I applied online for overdraft protection, which Wells does through through their credit cards. I know Wells is pretty strict on their lending standards and I was apprehensive about applying since I have a BK less than 3 years ago. I was shocked to be approved! Pulled TU (687 FICO) Gave me a $500 line, called on the phone and was told Wells would review for a larger amount after 6 months. 0% for first 6 months. Don't know the APR as of yet (will be between 10.15-20.15) no annual fee. Feels good to be approved with a PRIME bank again!

Title: Approved For An AMEX
Date Reviewed: 2011-12-14 00:10:32 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: So far, GECRB ROCKS! Approved instantly online. $1200 limit. All FICO's in the low 700's. Double digit inquiries and yes the first number starts with a 2. AaoA is 4 years. High 22.9% APR. Tier 2. They the card should arrive about the 19th, but maybe before. Be advised you can't use the temporary online card in store. Recently denied Amex Blue Cash Preferred. No complaints. I'm going to the Amex party in my own ride parked down the street and not Amex's exclusive bus. LMTO. I'll take it! Costco is calling.

Review: SO it all happened when I was wondering their website and saw their card, its benefits aren't that bad. So i filled out the form and submitted it. I never thought i would get approved for the amex but i did and they gave a CL of $1,000 which i think is a good limit so that I don't have to worry about spending to much. Title: The Strangest Thing...A Credit Line Decrease
Date Reviewed: 2012-04-12 20:22:57 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I've had this card for about a year with a $13,000 CL. Today, I learned that my CL has decreased to $4,700. Suddenly my 30% utilization on this card is now 90%...go figure. When I called to inquire about the rationale for the decrease, the CSR stated they could do a hard pull of my CR to see if they can reinstate my original CL. I declined to do this. In fact, based on this scenario, I will work agressively to pay this balance in full and then close the account--I don't need this kind of elasticity.

Title: APPROVED!!!!

Review: Yes! After being denied from other cards. I stopped applying for about 2 months. Well TODAY I was Approved for Brooks Brothers Credit Card $1,400 and now Wells Fargo Platinum with a $2,500 CL. Very excited or this.

Review: I have my mortgage through Wells Fargo and decided to apply for this card. I was initially declined but called cs and spoke to a representitive who approved me for a $4,000 credit limit. Had two old collections on my cr which was why I was declined. After explaining them and my current situation I had no trouble getting approved. TU -700 EX -691 EQ -685

Review: Applied today and got an instant approval for $3,000. They pull Experian which is my lowest score so that was very odd. My score is for sure in the high 600's not 700s like it mentioned in the credit score needed for approval. I'll apply for Wells Fargo cash back card next year.

Title: Dillards American Express
Date Reviewed: 2013-01-20 21:18:21 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I went to dillards yesterday after not finding the boots i wanted at macys. I knew the girl was going to ask because the first question at the register on the card machine was "did the representative ask you if you wanted to apply for a dillards card today?" as i read it she asked I politely declined. The girl insisted I apply and told me it takes ust a few seconds. I asked her if I would receive any discount today for doing so and she said 10 percent. Being I worked at a retail store in high school and probing customers to open credit card accounts was my main job I know they have quotas so I was like ok fine. I had a ton of credit cards and dont need another one but I let her process the application. Was approved in about 10 seconds. Credit line $2,000. Not bad for a department store credit card and the fact that this is the 3rd account i have opened within the last 3 months. Does anyone else have this card? If so are there any perks? So far I am going to just pay the balance when I get the statement and probably not use it. I did read the terms and conditions (i work in loans and credit) so i always make sure to read all the fine print. It looks like on this card you get 2 points for every dollar you spend at dillards and 1 point everywhere else. If the points are redeemable for cash like my chase freedom card Ill probably use it every now and then.

Review: 0% APR for 12 months. Approved for $15,000. Not sure which Credit Bureau was pulled. EX 789 and TU 810. I have a car loan through Wells Fargo so that may have helped.

Review: I recently paid off the balance on my auto loan with Wells Fargo and was offered this credit card. I applied and received a $7,000CL. My credit score averages around 655 and I filed bankruptcy in 2004... This will finally fall off in 2014 and I hope it will boost my score tremendously! I hope to work towards an American Express approval!

Title: Ok, Still Not Unsecured After 1yr And Five Months
Date Reviewed: 2015-09-12 18:08:54 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card in april 2014 and was instantly approved. My score at the time was high 500s low 600s. My FICO score now is 659 and I have decent household income. I'm not confident this card will unsecure, but I'm not that concerned about it. (Received my first amex (green) card in July, I'm so happy about that. And I did not have a high score at the time). ps. I haven't been on here since 2008 so I'm catching up my activity

Title: Applied In Store

Review: Applied in store and declined with my scores around 800.a week later they called and went over a few thing and approved me for 6200 at 13.0 percent. I guess that's not too bad

Title: Great Card!!!!!!!
Date Reviewed: 2020-07-28 17:57:23 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have this card a year now. I used it initially for a 0% balance transfer for a year. The term just expired so I paid off the balance in full. Initial credit line is $24,000 but I only used $9,600 of it for the balance transfer. I have been with Wells Fargo for a while now with checking and savings accounts. I never had any problems with this bank
