Title: A CLI Finially!
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-03 09:28:04 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had this card over 8 years. My initial Cl was 1000.00 and at 1 year I received a cli of 500.00. Now 7 years later I logged in to find that my credit limit had increased from 1500.00 to 3000.00. I rarely use the card but it will help with utilization.

Title: Received CLI In 5 Months
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-18 17:05:56 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I received this card in Nov of 2012. My initial CL was $500. I don't know what my scores were, but I know they weren't good. I had delinquent student loan bc it wasn't consolidated (as was suppose to be). At the time, the loans were current, but in the months prior to approval, they were not. Fast forwards...after 5 months of paying $50 - $100 EVERY week (I would use the card quite a bit), I received a $1,000 credit line increase. Now my CL is $1,500. At the time of the increase, I had a balance of about $300. It should be noted that I filed Chapter 7 BK in Sept. 2011. One capital one credit card (limit of $500) and a deficiency auto balance of about $25K on an auto loan was also included in BK. My credit score is around 580 - 600 with the 3 agencies. I was also approved for a $2,000 Spark CL recently. I guess Cap1 will be my favorite account since they have given me a 2nd chance.

Title: First CC Ever

Review: I just turned 18 a little over a week ago- and decided to apply for this card last night. I was approved with a $49 deposit immediately. I will be applying for two more cards...1 every 3-4 months...trying to have a total of three by years end. I won't apply for any more until I'm 21 maybe...I would recommend this card to any credit newbie-since they take chances on first time credit obtainers(plus my mom had them for years)!...I'll do an update once I have it for a little while.

Title: Love Capital One Cash Rewards!
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-20 11:41:46 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied about a year ago and for starters they gave me $500 which I'm so happy about. I had filed BK 2010 so I am appreciative. Anyway after 6 months waiting and expecting only $250 more on their credit steps program they gave me $1000 more! I was surprised to see that my CL went up to $1500! Oh yeah and their rewards program..awesome they just gave me $46 on my anniversary bonus. I'm happy with Capital One they are the best for people like me :)

Title: Declined... Again
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-20 21:55:07 | Recommended?: No

Review: I applied for this card after seeing another user being approved with a score less than 600. I was denied in 60 seconds. Capital one is the only card than I do not have in my wallet...oddly enough. I have every other card from american express, citi (3 of them) bank of america, bank of texas, chase, you name it. Werid they approve applicants with extremely challenged credit but wont approve an applicant like myself with 700+ fico score. Oh well, after being employed for Capital One for 2 years (i no longer work for them) I know they are en extremely odd company. Im going to stop trying with capital one. Oh, I also purchased a $42,000 truck a few weeks ago and was approved by every other bank but Cap one. They hate me I guess. Lol.

Title: Upgrade From Platinum MC
Date Reviewed: 2013-06-10 15:11:38 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I received a letter informing me that I was eligible for Venture Visa. I did a little research and found that Cap One is quite conservative concerning account upgrades so I pulled the trigger. I was immediately approved for the upgrade with 15.1% interest with no annual fee. Capital One did a soft pull but left my credit limit at $3000.00. I have had the regular Platinum MC for 7 years and did not receive a cli from 2008 through early 2013 despite perfect payment history so I was quite surprised that received the upgrade.

Title: Approved
Date Reviewed: 2013-06-10 20:12:30 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: My son was approved for this card. He applied online and received the 7-10 day message. He received a call two days later by a representative of Cap1 that he was approved, but they needed to verify his identity. He had to send a copy of his ID, bank statement (he did not have a utility bill under his name), and a copy of his social security card. Surprisingly, the day we got the call to send in the verification, was the same day the card came in the mail. We could not activate it, however, until the documents were received by Cap1. We scanned then faxed everything over and the next day the "hold" on the card was lifted.

Title: Product Change, Member Since 2006
Date Reviewed: 2013-11-15 19:55:32 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This card started out as the Capital One Platinum card that I obtained during my chapter 13 in 2006. Capital One was the first to give me a credit card as I was rebuilding. Limit started off at $1,500 then increased to $4,500 and stayed there until 2012. I did a product change to the Ventures card early 2012 and called EO office December 2012 and CL raised to $10,000. I like going from a standard credit card to rewards card. I'm happy with the Venture card.

Title: Approved
Date Reviewed: 2013-12-02 00:11:34 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was looking for a travel rewards card and decided to app for this one because of the no annual fee and fairly decent rewards program. I was instantly approved with a $3000 CL and 19.99% rate after the 12 month 0% promo.

Review: Chapter 7 discharge 8/20/14; approved for $3,000 on 8/29/14. I wanted back in with Capital One since my previous Venture card with $15,000 credit limit and zero balance closed due to bankruptcy filing. This card is enrolled in the Credit Steps program.

Title: Good Card, But One Thing Bugs Me...
Date Reviewed: 2015-01-09 01:55:00 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I just received this card today. Applied on 12/22/14, and received on 1/8/15, 16 days, but we had two holiday in there so that was fine. I got approved for $99 deposit/$200 credit line. I actually was quite shocked they gave me a second chance, as I admit I have defaulted with them in the past and had an account charge off...I decided to send them $499, to give a $600 starting limit. I LOVE the fact that you can increase your credit line up to $3000, and I did quite a bit of research on this card, and it looks like they give unsecured increases also. Most seem to be in the $300-$400 range around 6-8 months based on what I read. Registered online today with no problem. Set up a payment for $29 right away, the annual fee. Comes with credit tracker thru Trans Union, so I can watch my score rise in time. I am going to add a little here, a little there, to raise my limit. I wanted to test the waters today, as you can do this right on the website, so I decided to send in another $50 to raise me up to $650...was very easy, comes out of my checking account. What I didn't like is that it will take TEN DAYS for my limit to update! I just think that's too long!! We all know it will not take 10 days for those funds to clear...its 2015...a day or two maximum. If I would of known this, I would sent more in the opening deposit amount. I talked to online chat tonight, just to be sure this was true, and was told that's how long it takes to post...I asked if that was because my account is new...but was told that's how it will always be. I wasn't happy, but I will get over it I suppose! But it seems like they do want to help build my credit, and I was grateful for the second chance. I even designed my own card for free. I will certainly report back if it doesn't take the full 10 days, but I thought future card holders may want to know this detail...

Title: Another Winner!!
Date Reviewed: 2015-06-16 20:41:18 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: On my search for cards to rebuild with, I came across this one from Capital One. This is my second account with them, as I have their Secured MasterCard...but this one is completely unsecured. Was instant approval, was given $500 starting line. Also mentioned that with 5 on time payments I will be eligible for a higher credit line! Website is awesome, and I was able to link both my accounts together with same username and password, so I see both accounts when I log in. I can can access both accounts with the Capital One Wallet app on my I-phone too...and can also use both cards with Apple pay if I want to. I was able to choose my own card design for free. Card took about two weeks to get to me from the time I applied. This card has NO ANNUAL FEE, a first for me!! APR is 19.8%, also a first for me. All my other re-builder cards are 29.99%, with the exception of the secured MasterCard I mentioned earlier, that is 22.90%. Card also offers 1% cash back on purchases, and an additional .25% when I pay on time for the cash I have earned... I am amazed that Capital One had given me a second chance. I had mentioned in my review of the Capital One Secured MasterCard back in January 2015 that I have defaulted with them in the past, but it seems I have been forgiven, and awarded with 2 pretty awesome accounts. The card also includes Credit Tracker thru TransUnion for free which I like, and updates once a month so I can see my credit building get better and better. My plan is working, and couldn't be happier that things are getting better. I definitely can confirm Capital One will help rebuild credit. Hope the review helps someone, and encourages other to hang in there...its a long process, but I know I will be just fine...

Title: Excellent Card Since Capital One Has Takenover
Date Reviewed: 2015-12-15 20:56:08 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I cant remember when I got approved for this charge card but I know its been over two years (or close to it). Started with a $200 limit then after six months called to have it increased and they bumped me to $500. Stayed at that limit until Capital One became the bank and 3 months ago got an auto increase so my limit is $1000! I love capital one and all the discounts that i receive with this card. i typically pay my balance in full but may carry a balance every now and then. I think more people will get this card now that capital one is in charge. Thanks.

Title: Love The Rewards
Date Reviewed: 2016-05-31 19:15:49 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had my Capital One for about nine months now. I love it. I was shocked to see how quickly my points built up. I turned them in for gift cards. When I first got the credit card I set up to get online bills. I not only get my statement online, but I also get a reminder ten days before the bill is due that it's due. I'm sometimes forgetful when it comes to online statements. I've had to call customer service once because there was a charge on my card that I did not make. It was quickly resolved. Capital One took the charge off the account. I really do love this card and I recommend it to anyone that is looking to get a credit card.

Title: Putting It Back Into Rotation
Date Reviewed: 2018-01-11 14:40:39 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I stopped using this card when I was approved for another with a seemingly higher reward. That one didn't pan out, so I'm going back to using this card more often. It earns 1.5% back on every purchase, no exclusions, rotating rewards or anything like that. I've had the card for a while and recall quickly being approved for $10,000 and getting it in the mail within a week or so. There's no annual fee, and the interest rate is just over 24%.

Title: Off To A NOT So Great Start
Date Reviewed: 2018-10-03 04:13:00 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card on 9/14. I didn't get an instant decision which is odd because I have excellent credit and always get instant decisions. It took them a week to call and tell me my application was flagged for a random fraud questionare. I completed it and she said they would follow up. It took up until today to let me know my card was coming in the mail. Unlike other lenders that send you an e mail with your credit line etc.... Cap one doesn't. Was very generic. I called to asked about my CL right before 5 and was told their credit card underwriters leave at 4:30. MUST BE NICE!!! I am a CC underwriter for another large bank and we don't get off at 4:30.... Guess I need to go work for cap one! They better had given me a large CL for all that hassle. My lowest CL is 12K so if I get it and its under that their is no reason to keep it open as I won't use it anyway. I have a login with them already because I have their credit wise service but it doesn't let me see this account yet.

Title: Slow Posting
Date Reviewed: 2018-10-03 07:58:07 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: CO is a big bank and offers credit cards to some with less than good credit scores. That's fine. However charges made have taken up to 4 days to post making it impossible to pay balance after purchase. I do that to keep my utilization low or at nil. With BOA I can pay balance while charges are pending unlike with CapOne. Payment is slow to post also. Beware if you wait until near due date. This all seems like a setup to catch the unwary. Customer service is "ok" when you can reach them but now I cant call via Skype since my account is blocked when calling customer service for help or inquiry. I live overseas and have not had problems before with any bank I use. Only the "get a new cc" number works. Read get more fish. This card helped with my score but I will curtail my use of it while seeking an alternative. I will add that the rewards are good and I've had no problems while overseas.
