Title: Great Reward Card!
Date Reviewed: 2006-12-16 14:58:21 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had the Kroger 123 card for one year now and the rewards are great! You can really rack up on the points by shopping in Kroger and by buying Kroger items. I have already received $35 back in reward certificates which you redeem in the store. My FICO score was not 742, or near that when I applied for the card and I was approved. When I applied for the card, I requested a balance transfer since it was offered 0% for 12 months. They have awesome online account management that is very easy to work with. You can have a payment post the same day as long as it is posted before 4 or 5 PM EST. That is very convenient. I highly recommend this card! I thought it was funny at first for a grocery store to have it's own credit card, but with rewards like this, I use it all the time!

Title: DO NOT TRANSFER A BALANCE!
Date Reviewed: 2007-01-20 03:49:33 | Recommended?: No

Review: As a long standing Kroger shopper the reward card sounded like a winner to me. Unfortunately I made the mistake of transferring a balance to take advantage of the 12 month 0% rate that was supposed to save me lots of money. My first surprise was discovering a $50 transfer fee on my first bill. My next surprise was discovering that I was being charged interest on all purchases, even though I would pay them off monthly, because I was carrying a balance due to the transfer I had made. My final surprise was discovering that my payments to cover purchases were applied to the 0% transferred balance. The net result was that in 3 months I was paying 12.99% on the amount I had transferred to take advantage of their 0% offer. The promotional brochure promises great savings but read the fine print! The balance transfer offer is clearly deceptive. I feel my trust in a grocer I had a long relationship with was taken advantage of.

Title: 123 Rewards - Don't Be Late
Date Reviewed: 2007-04-11 19:15:19 | Recommended?: No

Review: I at first this card to be a deceit deal, with the cents off gas, rewards, etc. Then after having the card a few months and paying the balance monthly. I happen to pay a couple of days late. Well I thought no big deal, I will just give them a call and ask for a one time removal. I did, they didn't, I received a letter after the call stating that they can not afford late payments, etc. A Thirty-five dollar late fee pretty much knocks out any savings I had hoped for. So mine will be going back. If you have the card, pay the bill when you receive it.

Title: Customer Service? Worst Ever!
Date Reviewed: 2007-05-05 20:43:57 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I used the % percent check and did not receive a statement which they said they had sent me, asking for a minimum maintenance payment of $20, and therefore incurred a late fee of $35, revoking my % to 17+% APR, and financial charges. Evan after I made all the necessary payments and numerous calls to their customer service, explaining the reason my first payment was missed, all I have received were several letters from the supervisors of 1-2-3 reward MasterCard customer service, indicating that there was nothing that they could do about their decision to revoke my % to 17+% APR, as well as all the charges. This is the worst customer service I ever experienced.

Title: Predatory Banking
Date Reviewed: 2007-05-15 16:02:12 | Recommended?: No

Review: Made an online payment late April, transposed two numbers on the checking account - thanks to old-age eyesight. The routing (bank ID) number was right, they had the right name - but that was an opportunity to collect a $20 returned payment fee. Of course they didn't notify me that the payment wasn't made so they could get their $35 late fee. I'm amazed Kroger would associate with such a low life bank - I'm done with them.

Title: Read The Fine Pint
Date Reviewed: 2007-06-11 20:16:05 | Recommended?: No

Review: Read the fine print when you actually receive the card. Upon receiving my Kroger MasterCard almost all of the incentives listed in the brochure were changed. Instead of a $10 check for every 1000 points it was switched to a $5 check, even though the brochure says you will receive double points for gas you no longer receive any points, and even though the brochure promises you will receive 5 points for every dollar you spend on Kroger brand products that has been changed to 3 points. Everything about the Kroger MasterCard is deceptive. Kroger should be ashamed of having their logo on a product containing so many lies.

Title: Why I'm Shopping Less With Kroger
Date Reviewed: 2007-08-25 17:16:51 | Recommended?: No

Review: My family has shopped primarily with Krogers even though we are are within easy driving distance of a WalMart, Biggs, and other discount grocers. When Kroger introduced their MasterCard, we immediately began using it and were pleased with the discounts we received on gasoline, etc. We ALWAYS pay our bill in full at the end of each billing cycle. We failed to pay our bill in July. It was our oversight and clearly our fault. We realized our error when the next statement arrived. We immediately paid our bill in full electronically. Two days later I received a call from Kroger advising me we were delinquent. I explained the account balance would be zero within a matter of days. I thought the matter had been settled until I attempted to use my credit card later that morning. Kroger had "turned it off." Needless to say, I certainly no longer feel like one of Kroger's "valued customers." My wife and I have discussed this matter and have decided to switch most of business to other grocers in the area. It's obvious that in spite of thousands of dollars of purchases, Kroger views us a deadbeats. It's sad when companies create programs designed to attract new customers but the impact of those programs is to alienate the customers they already have.

Title: Highly Dissasfied
Date Reviewed: 2007-10-03 13:38:24 | Recommended?: No

Review: The way that the customer rep. Explained the program was very vague and unethical. Transfer fees were not revealed and the 12 month no interest on balance transfer option was not explained. So beware! If you transfer balances you will be charged a fee AND do not use the card for gas or groceries because they will apply the payments made to the 12 month no interest amounts first. So in reality, if you use your card for their extra points you cheat yourself out of 12 months no interest! Why should I PAY to shop at Kroger!

Title: Good For Building

Review: I got this card about a year ago with a 1k CL, which was increased to 2k after just 6 months. It doesn't have any rewards or anything like that, but it also doesn't have any annual fees or ugly aprs. Nice, solid credit card for beginners... TU was in low 600's when I was approved

Title: Excellent APR And BT Options!
Date Reviewed: 2008-08-15 22:17:11 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I got this card in 6/2006 with a $4900 credit limit. Their rewards are 3% for gas stations and 1% for the others. The APR after 2 years is 7.99% for purchases and balance transfers which I find excellent for those who keep a balance. When I applied for it, I did a $2000 BT on this card and their was no fee associated with the BT. Yes, no fee for BT and 0% APR for 12 months at time of approval. I haven't used this card much but I will be in future. And if I ever decide to keep a balance, the APR on this at 8% is atleast 5% better than my other cards. They however are not in business of giving CLIs without a hard pull. 2 years later and I am still sitting at $4900. I asked for one using a soft pull and they said they cant do it without a hard pull. I didn't want an inquiry on my report so I declined. The rewards expire after 3 year once you accumulate them

Title: Instant Approval
Date Reviewed: 2009-04-30 20:47:02 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Issued by RBS was approved instantly online for $2000 Don't really need any new credit I actually closed several accounts Chase, Hooters and replaced with this card. They pull equifax and my FICO at the time was 724. Chase was difficult raised my apr even though I paid perfectly and never carried a balance except for a short time after Christmas. This card will save me a little on gasoline about.15 per gallon.

Title: Not Instant Approval
Date Reviewed: 2009-06-25 17:45:31 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Appied online, pulled EQ score was close to FICO 800 plus at time, denied online due to new recent account. I did nothing else and then 3 weeks later card arrived in mail with 3k limit. I thought limit was quite low for my report compared to what I have seen in recent limits issued of 5k to 10 k with scores in low 700's but it is suppose to be a good rewars card. If you get an online denial like I did it does not mean you are out!

Title: Approved
Date Reviewed: 2009-07-15 19:47:46 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Approved for $5,000 CL. EQ 667, TR and EX low 700's. Took about 5 business days for approval. Pulled EQ.

Review: Signed up for this card and not a instant approval however, I have been Approved for a $5K C/L

Title: Instant Approval

Review: I Applied online today. I received instant approval. Had to call back to ask what Credit Limit was $3800. They seemed very helpful and friendly. I didn't have any trouble understanding them. I assume customer service for this card is sourced here in USA! It's not my highest limit but I think very generous. All scores above 700 with no baddies. I look forward to using it at Fry's stores. I read all the reviews here it looks good. I hope this info helps.

Title: - A HONEST UPFRONT CARD
Date Reviewed: 2010-09-04 18:27:55 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I recently got stuck with two cards that increased their apr from 11.25 to 16.24-TD North Visa, another from 16.99 to 23.44% all within less than 8 weeks. One claimed no % if I paid on time 18 months,  on a laptop  $719.00-bestbuy gold MasterCard-stay away from ANY card with hsfc bank behind it. The 1st time I bought a hdtv, they claimed they sent me 5 cards, within a month. I knew I had to pay before 1 month or face high interest, so I had to call them and ask when the FIRST DATES PAYMENT was due. If I did not stay on them I would of been stuck with over 17 % interest on a $1367 hdtv.. To top it off this time they said I had to pay $12.11 INTEREST from the time I bought the laptop to the first statement, what kind of bs is this ?  I'm contacting the BBB and consumer affairs office rather than deal with these people. So I decided to apply FPR the Citi platinum card,TO PAY THESE SUCKERS OFF BEFORE THEY TRY ANY OTHER TRICKS. I APPLIED 5 DAYS AGO AND THEY  approved me for $3900.00. MY AVERAGE CREDIT SCORE COMBINING ALL THREE BUREAUS IS APPROX 780-800 It gives me 18 months to pay off a balance transfer without the horrendous apr the other cards wanted, you only pay the amount and 5%, no other interest. You call these HIGH INTEREST/SNEAKY CARD BANKS  and get the payoff amount, also no interest on purchases for 1 year. Then 14.99% after the 12 month introductory rate,  lower than other cards I had and paid off quickly. CITI  has great customer service, more than I can say for hsfs,- foreign customer reprs you can hardly understand for one thing, plus they do not want to put their shift supervisor on, which is just as well because they are no help either. Back to the CITI  balance transfer card, it is a no HIDDEN fees or surprise small print  card... I used it once before about 7 years ago and saved about $235 in % charges! It is the best card for transfers, second only to my chase rewards card-5% rewards-gas/supermarket/pharmacy-20,000 points for a rt on continental, 10,000 for a $100 reward check. I think CITI also has a similar card and if you pay the total each month you come out ahead and really earn great rewards.
