Review: I just got approved for this card today. I applied and they gave me a reference #. I called Wal-Mart, gave them my reference # and he did a few questions only I would know and approved me for $600.00 Wow that was more than Target. They gave me $200.00

Title: Basic Walmart Card
Date Reviewed: 2007-12-31 14:45:14 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was appoved for online for the walmart card and then about three months later sent a preapproval for their Sams Club card with an even higher limit. Since you can use these cards at either store I am thinking of canceling the walmart card and keeping the Sams Club card. The interest rate is a lot lower for the Sams Club card.

Review: Applied for card online and approved instantly. Pulled from TU. 4K CL. TU score was 640. The nice thing about this card is that they report to all 3 agencys. I would highly recommend this card.

Title: In-store Instant Approval
Date Reviewed: 2008-01-21 21:43:54 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This should have been my first review since I´ve been shopping the past month for 3 different credit cards and this was my second. I was first sceptical but since the offered me a 0% until Jan 2009 for any purchase of $250 ore more I decided to apply in-store although I doubted I would get approved since my credit history is almost new and only being an authorized user on my spouse´s BofA Mastercard. I got approved within 5 minutes for $2300 CL and I felt that was way too much. LOL. I´m from a different culture and running into debt or applying for huge credit, even if you don´t use it, always makes me super nervous. But living in the USA showed me quickly you need to have good credit for almost everything. So, I try to build it the right way. Well, the card arrived after exactly 7 days in the mail. Activation was easy but the lady was very pushy to sign me up for the account insurance program and I had to confirm orally severaltimes that I want to enroll. I still have to verify if that was a good move or rip-off. I still can cancel it after the terms arrive. Online, it was easy to set up online account access and I also enrolled for check-free online payment and already scheduled my first payment to see if everything goes smoothly. Don´t want to run into any surprises when it counts. I won´t use this card too much. I just want to be able to get one or the other 0%/12 months the next years and I maybe maintain a small balance to pay off every month. Since Walmart is one of the cheapest retailers around here, it does make sense shopping there AND benefitting using this card (025-1% cash back). For everything else, I´m going to update this review over time.

Title: Overal Good Card

Review: I was pre-approved for this card over the phone, when I called about my anniversary date for my regular WalMart card. The csr asked if I were interested in an upgrade from the regular Wal Mart Store card to the Discover Card. I got the card in 4 days. I've used it about 10-12 times and paid it off each day or the next day and I've already began to see my cash back accrue. The online service is really good. So far the customer service is good as well, my interest rate is high 17.4 but that's exspected considering how many inquiries I have in the last 12 months (22), FICO with Equifax was a 717 at the time April 5th. Credit limit is low $1800. Rockin35!

Title: Pleasantly Surprised!
Date Reviewed: 2008-07-16 16:37:43 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Ok, so I had gotten a pre approval offer from Walmart card last year and I did not apply as I didn't think that I would apply. I decided to go to the site last night and tempt fate and apply. I got to the 4 Lexus Nexis questions and at the last one, I meant to hit the 'next' button but I hit cancel instead. A pop up box openned up and I tried to 'x' out but it aborted the entire ap. I decided to apply again as I didn't think that it had gotten to the irquiry section yet. I did this and got the dreaded '7day message'. I went to www.Creditboards.com and looked up the backdoor # for underwriting and called them today. I got xferred to another area which I was told was the fraud department and the lady then asked me 3 questions that were related to 2 cars that we had owned(1 currently) and about a street address. She then said, 'congratulations, you have been approved for the Walmart Discover for $1700'. I nearly fell out of my chair and had to ask her to repeat it again to make sure that I was hearing right. My daughter who has absolutely clean credit, with no baddies but a file less than 12mths although I have her as an authorized user on my 5yr Cap 1 card(which is what I am convinced is the reason why she has gotten so many good cards with no credit file before) was denied for a Discover Rewards card and was cast off to the HSBC Direct Rewards 18% Discover card (at least no AF) with just a measly $750 limit. I can't believe it! I have to say that I do have a Sam's club (started at $300 and then last month, requested CLI and got $200)and that Walmart pulled Equifax which is my best report with no baddies except my bad student loan. I still can't believe it especially as the database is filled with stories of people only meager limits of $200 or less or odd amounts under $300. I don't know what tier I fall into yet so not sure of the interest rate but this card won't be used to charge more than $50. P. S I thinking that if you got a pre-approval that it is more than likely that you will be approved.

Title: Not A Bad Card Or Rate
Date Reviewed: 2008-09-06 16:32:02 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card and was approved my APR is 5.9% with a credit score of 742 from TU. Credit limit on this card is $2000. I have a regular Discover card as well with a limit of $4600. I have a total of 7 CC and store cards. I'm 22 going on 23 and actually respect my credit rating making sure I can pay more than minimum due monthly if I can't afford to pay them off completely. Hopefully guarding my credit and building it as my parents taught me will pay off when I go for a mortgage here with in the next year. I'm married and my husbands credit is in the john but with me working and maintaining my personal credit I'm hoping his won't affect buying a house in my name.

Review: I applied today at Walmart for their store card, but was instead approved for the Walmart Discover card for a $1600 cl. I have a Discover card from Discover and I didn't want another one. The APR on the Walmart Discover card is 22.90%. That is much higher than my other cards. I would blame it on the economy, but looking at the Walmart website, they have a much lower APR. I called to cancel, but the customer service person told me the benefits of keeping the card. Like the 0% for 12 months on purchases over $299 for the Walmart Discover card and not the Walmart card. That's the only time I will use the card is when a purchase is over $299. I asked them to lower my APR after telling them how much lower my APR is on my other cards, but they refused. I told them about my APR being 13.90% on my Discover and 9% on my Bank of America card. The B of A is not a secured card. I don't know what my scores are. The Walmart store card is also 22.90%.

Review: For the last year and a halff since I started re-building, ge money would not touch me as far as opening an account, even a store account. Scores are higher now, but a lot of inquaries, applied and was approved, not instantly. Limit is $750 which matches my wells fargo card that un-secured. I got the 18.24% apr, pretty high. I have got to commit to no more apps. I am sure that my scores would be much higher if not for all of the new accounts and inquaries recently.

Review: I think GE money holds grudges and blacklists people, I did default on their Wall-Mart card and paid it off last year. I get no love from any of the GE cards. I hate being at the mercy off these big money hungery idiots.

Title: Denied
Date Reviewed: 2010-04-13 23:44:04 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was denied by this credit card that time (Jun 2009) because there was a 30-day delinquency in my recorder. The time my credit score is right above 600. The length of credit history was 18 months. Average hard inquiries is 2. This card gave me a hard pull from TU. I didn't apply for this card after I was declined. Around two weeks ago, I went to Costco and applied the True Earning AMEX and I got approved (you can check my review on that card). Actually, three months after that (Sep 2009), the delinquency black mark was taken out and my credit history is clean again (credit score became around 680). So, one thing for sure is that there is no room for people who do not have clean credit record on this card.

Title: Suprised I Was Denied.
Date Reviewed: 2010-06-24 16:21:58 | Recommended?: No

Review: Applied and denied for this card. I have trimmed my open cards down to just my GE Money bank Visa, $900 limit, Wells Fargo MasterCard, $750 limit, Merrick bank card, $500 limit, a wfnnb store card, $500. Just paid off a personal loan from my bank too. Only using about 15% of my credit lines, and all my accounts are between 1 and 3 years old. I have one older charged-off account and 2 collections also years old. I have been getting approved for some okay cards, but with low limits, and I cant figure out why. My scores are all in the middle to upper 600's.

Title: Spent Enough With Them...

Review: I've heard a bit about this card. I applied online, and didn't receive an instant approval. I got a letter in a few days stating they needed to confirm some information. After about 5 minutes on the phone, the information was confirmed, and I was extended a $900 CL. Not to shaby I would say. They ran a hard inquiry on TransUnion. My score at the time was 725. I intend on using this mostly as a utilization boost, due to the fact that it's only useful on ShopNBC. Hoefully, they will extend me the MasterCard when they see I won't be using it too often. I'll use it just to keep it open. No annual fee is a plus, so it cost nothing to keep the credit line open. That's a plus. I'll update as I use the card, and my experiences increase with it.

Title: Approved But Not Instant

Review: Applied for card in dec. They checked TU. I have three or four inquiries in the last 2 years. No baddies, no late payments. I only have four credit cards all low limits. Two starter cards with 400, one gas with 600, and paypal buyers credit with 500. Goal was to get this card so I can dump one of the starter cards that has an annual fee. I keep limits under 30%. I also use identity guard to send me reg updates on scores and credit hits. Did not get instant decision. On week two I saw that it dinged my identity guard, and one week later I received a call asking about security questions. No other contact before that. It's my highest limit so far and plan on paying off each month so not worried about apr. Customer service was pleasant. Approved for $1700. So far no hassles but still new card MY Scores EQ 730, EX 635, and TU 737
