Title: Sears MasterCard

Review: Well I have 12 credit cards 5 are capital ones.. I filed bankruptcy in July 2009 and discharged Oct 2009.. Well I went into Sears because my mother got approved for a HSBC/Capital One MasterCard with a $1800 limit. She was declined for the Citi version... So I applied thinking I would get a Capital One version Citi Bank approved me for a $4000 limit! I was shocked. The interest is nearly 26% but I'm not complaining with my credit being considered " fair-good" Ficos Eq-650 Exp: 667 TU: 690. They pulled experian. I thought Citi had a no clause for bankruptcies like Chase after a certain period of time IE; 4 years. Its not quite 4 years but 3 years and 6 months about... I closed 4 capital one cards with annual fees $39.00 about. They refuse to combine accounts anymore or work with you... I highly recommend this card because of the great financing offers it has...

Review: I have had my Citi Diamond Preferred card for well over a year now, other than the 0% interest rate that will be up soon I really dont benefit much from this card as far as rewards, I called on Friday to see if I may do a product change to the Citi Dividend card, after about a minute on hold the agent was able to approve me for the upgrade and also told me it would be a WORLD mastercard! Interest rate will be 14.24% lowered from 21.99% and my credit limit would be $5,000! I was quite puzzled that they upgraded me to a Mastercard instead of their Visa card, because I cant find their Mastercard anywhere? The agent said the conversion should take about 45 days and I should get my new card sometime in March! Also wanted to point out, they will just change everything over as far as credit reporting, so that I dont end up getting one account closed and a new one open! So far everything looks great!

Review: Hi FG, This will be my last card I apply for my wife for the rest of the year. This card I applied was before the Amex and Chase cards. Well on Dec-11-12 I applied online and got a pending decision. I waited for the email to come and found out it was denied for limited credit history. I called the reconsideration line and they told me I was denied because I opened a lot of credit cards in the year. They used Experian and I opened 4 credit cards the last one being Macy's in June. I told them if they reconsider they said no. I searched online how to reconsider with Citi, and found it was better to send a letter to the Citibank Executive Review Department. So I wrote a letter explaining my Credit and Score and told them I wanted to replace Cap One with them. Also I told them I heard a lot of good reviews (FG) about them and excellent customer service. I sent them the letter on Dec-15 and received a response on Dec-28 saying that they needed my wife's Social Security card. On Jan-1 I sent the SS# card. I was so happy with the letter that I forgot to send my Reference # with the letter. Jan-14 came and received a letter stating they don't have a reference #. Jan-16 I sent the letter with the REFERENCE# and SS#. On Jan-22 they called me telling me they received my letter and its under review and they will call me when the review is completed. They did not call back and figured it was denied. Today I went to there website and put the reference # and zip code and she got approved for $1500.00 21.99 APR and 0 AF. I don't know the scores yet but I believe they were around 700. Thank you Citibank. That's it I will not apply for any more cards. AK Credit.

Review: I decided to convert my Platinum Select MasterCard to this card, since I am an AT&T customer for the rewards, my current APR is 21.99% on my Select, but was reduced down to 13.24% with the AT&T card! No hard pull was required and all my payment history and account information will transfer right over with the new card in 45 days! A new account number will be issued but as far as credit reporting everything will stay the same.

Title: Citi Diamond Preferred
Date Reviewed: 2013-03-07 13:36:48 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Out of the blue, Citi notified me that my four year old Citi Platinum Select Mastercard was being upgraded to the Citi Diamond Preferred Mastercard. Everything would remain the same for terms and conditions (no AF 14.24% purchases and 21.99% cash). The difference is the benefits offered with the card and it does include the Easy Deals benefits. Note, went on line the day after receiving the letter and Citi's web had me changed. Product changed this card to a Citi Dividend American Express Card October 2013 with a 45 day waiting period since cash is king for me. Easy Deals just did not fit my rewards needs.

Title: CLI
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-24 23:30:34 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had the card since 9/2012. I did a balance transfer with them for $2500 when I applied and had an opening limit of $5100.00. I paid the BT off this month and a few days later requested a CLI. I requested an increase of $2000 to increase the credit limit to $7100.00 and was approved in 10 minutes.

Title: Conversion

Review: I applied for the Citi Secured card back in Sept 2011. It was kind of hard to find any posts, or forums pertaining to this card. Especially being that it had the option of graduating to an unsecured card. I had read some posts of angry card holders saying that theirs didn't convert to an unsecured card. Just before my CD for $1000 expired I called and was told that the card would convert to an unsecured card and that it would remain the same, as far as the APR (18.24%) , CL ($1000) and rewards, only unsecured. It had the Citi easy deals, which was Citi Extra Cash when I had gotten it. Its a simple rewards programs that only pays 10% of your monthly spending, then those points are used to take 10% off gift cards, or you can try to participate in their auctions, but I find they are very difficult to win. I asked to have the card converted to a cash card and was told that it would convert to the CashReturns card. I wasn't sure what that was until I looked up old posts on FG, but it hadn't been offered for years now. Not sure how I ended up with it, but I will give it a shot. It looks like its just a 1% cash back card with an APR of 15.24%. Today is my conversion day, and when I signed on the change was made. It took about 45 days to change from my old card to my new card. Also, last month I applied for a CLI of $1000 online and was approved. It should take about 10 days to receive my new card. If I don't like it, a year from now I will see if I am eligible to convert to a Thankyou premier card. I shop a lot on Amazon and you can use Thankyou points on there. I think I would like that better than waiting until I have $50 in cash rewards to redeem. So far, I am very pleased with Citi. Polite CSR's that show concern and give you accurate, and truthful advice. I plan on keeping them in my wallet for years to come.

Review: I applied online for this card in January. I got a massage saying that please contact us immediately in order to complete the processing of the application. I just called the phone number on the message. The representative told me that my application was approved, but we need to verify somewhat of your personal information to get the CL and the CC number. After verifying the information, she said congratulations you have been approved for a $3,500 CL and a 15.24% APR. You will be receiving your card in the next 7-10 business days. However, I got it in 5 days. I love it.

Review: I was at Sears shopping for appliances for my new home and saw Sears was offering 12 months no interest on appliances, I went ahead and applied, first the cashier ran my application for a Sears store card, it went instant approved for $3,000, frustrated, I told the cashier I wanted the Mastercard, of course he told me he cant cancel the first application, I told him I will close that one when I get home, so he ran my application for the MasterCard and it came back approved for $6,000.00! The APR is pretty high, but with the 0% interest deal I can justify having this card! They pulled my Experian score which is 759!

Review: This card started out as the Citi Premier, then I product changed to Citi Diamond and Citi changed the card from the Diamond to the Preferred. Citi was one of the first to give me prime credit after Chapter 13 discharged. Credit limit has gone from $8,000 to $26,800. Credit limit increases have been sporadic (hope that's how you spell it), still can't figure Citi out but the rewards are good and Citi has been great. I now have (3) Citi products but this is my favorite.

Review: I applied for the Shell Platinum Select Mastercard since the station in town changed suppliers, my application wasn't instantly approved, it took about a week to get a decision, I was originally approved for a credit line of $1,600.00, seemed paulty in comparison to what I currently carry in my wallet! Called Citi Bank, and explained that I wanted a higher credit line, they looked over my request, used the same hard pull as they did for my original application, and came back with an increase of $7,260.00? I requested a $5,000.00 credit line, so I was surprised they came back higher and with such an odd limit! I said Ill take it! Thank You! Citi Bank has been great to me! I have multiple Citi cards and have never had an issue with them! Even though the interest rate is exremely high, its a great gas card to have, and definately one you want to pay in full each month!

Title: Amazing Bank
Date Reviewed: 2016-03-24 15:46:38 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had this card since 2011 went thru the name conversion of this card back in 2013 I believe. I forgot what the card was called before that. All in all Citi is probably one of the best credit card companies. They get it. Balance transfers available all the time online along with 3 step credit line increase requests. I apply for a CLI with them about every 9 months and they always give me one. Its usually around 1,200-1,400. You can literally do everything you need to do with this card without ever having to pick up the phone. I wish ALL of my cards were like this. With chase, BOA you have to call for a CLI, i don't have that kind of time plus i don't feel with my 790 fico i have to or want to explain why I need/want a CLI. We 720+ ficos just should get a CLI just because well... We have worked hard for it right? We should be rewarded. I work for a lender as well and see at least 100 applications a day. Unfortunetely only %4 percent of the applications I see veryday are over a 600 fico, so when a see a 700+ I am very generous to the applicant for their hard work. Good job Citi. They will always be in my wallet.

Title: Great For Big Purchases
Date Reviewed: 2017-02-19 09:46:25 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This Best Buy card is issued through Citibank, so your credit score to get approved must be in the excellent to good range. What I really like about this card is that I needed a new laptop, but didn't have the cash upfront. So instead I signed up for this card and was able to get deferred financing on it for 12-months with 10% back on rewards for my first purchase. This card also allows you to make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted, which is nice because you can keep accumulating reward points. The APR is typical for a store card at 25.74% with no annual fees. Just be sure to read over the contract before you sign up so that you understand the APR, APY, and Financing Deferred Interest.

Review: I applied for this card on May 29, 2017 and received the usual 7 to 10 day notice. I received an email on June 5th stating that my application had been approved and funds would be withdrawn for the requested amount. They have taken out the funds and I should be receiving the card in few days. Even though this card has a high interest rate there is no annual fee. They put your money in a collateral account and after 18 months of good payments you get your cash back and approved for a regular Citibank credit card. Just want to rebuild my my credit after a very trying two years.

Review: I just applied and was approved with a $4k limit. The limit is low compared to my other cards but happy to finally have a Citibank credit card. I do have a savings account with them and my score was in the 700s according to credit karma when I applied. Great rewards on the card also.
