Title: Great Rewards
Date Reviewed: 2015-12-13 13:51:03 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I have had the Chase Freedom card for about eight months now and I am very happy with it. My husband and I have been banking with Chase for almost eight years and their customer service is above average. Now, having the Freedom card is one more plus to our relationship with them. The Freedom card always has one percent cash back rewards and they also sometimes increase the percentage we get back on certain things. For example, this month, we're getting ten percent back on all Amazon purchases. That was great news to me since I do most of my Christmas shopping on Amazon! I was also able to link my Chase rewards to my Amazon account so I can use my cash back to pay for purchases with just a couple of clicks. When you're getting ten percent back, the rewards really add up fast! All in all, I have found this to be a very convenient card and I am happy with the rewards and customer service.

Review: I've been wanting to apply for this card for awhile to supplement the cash back I get from my Discover More card. I applied online and was instantly approved with a credit limit of $500 and 15 months @ 0% for balance xfers and purchases. When I spend $500 in the first 3 months I receive a $100 bonus (that was a BIG reason that I applied). 5% cash back bonus on revolving categories, I believe the current category is hotels and airlines. I'm not sure of the interest rate after the 15 months, but I know it was high 22%? But it won't matter as I plan on using it for everyday purchases and paying in full :) They pulled TU, which was only 644 at the time. EQ is 720, last I looked EX is about 680. I received the card in about a weeks time.

Review: A few years ago my Aria/Providian Visa was purchased by Chase and almost immediately closed with a $3000 balance and a 33% APR. I had never been late but had high credit utilization on all my cards. Since then I have been paying on this card and all my other cards and am now at 18% utilization. I just finished paying off my closed account and decided I would give Chase another chance since they had the nice cash back option. They approved me for $7000. I don't know what the APR is because I don't really care as I pay all of my balances in full each month. 3 months ago I had a 650 score and now I have a 768. I've probably applied for too many cards in the past 6 months, but I'm looking for good rewards since I spend a lot of money. :) Discover $10,000; Delta AmEx $5,000; Citi Forward $7,000; Chase $7,000; Cap1 Venture $4,800; Orchard $3,500 EQ768 TU 777 EX768

Review: Its so nice to actually start getting some prime cards, I went ahead and applied for this card because of the cash back! I have really enjoyed having my Discover card and I found this card to be on parr as well! I wasnt instantly approved, had to call the back door number and inquire, was asked a few questions from the underwriter and placed on hold for about 4 minutes, after waiting for what seemed like forever, the gentleman came back on the line and congratulated me and started me with a $1,500 credit line, I asked what my APR was and he said all the information along with the card will be sent out to me! They pulled TransUnion and last time I checked my score was 722! I also have my braces financed with Chase Health Adavance as well, he did make mention of that, and told me to keep up the great work! Also wanted to note, this card offers a $100.00 cash bonus once I spend $500 in the first 3 months, as well as 0% interest for 15 months! Dont get no better than that! As soon as I get my AMEX Zync card I will be gardening for quite some time!

Review: I am a college student looking to build my credit. My oldest account is 1 year old (student card). This was the first time applying for a non-student, non-retail card. My EXP score is 717, and I was instantly approved for--here's the shocker--a $3000 CL. I know my score's good for having such young credit, and my payment history is flawless, but I was expecting a $1000 CL tops, if anything! Really excited to have this prime card with a nice CL to go along with my Discover Student More card. I only use credit cards to boost my score (as in I pay them off, never use above 20% of my credit, gain the rewards, etc). This card basically doubles my total credit, so it will really help my score! Wahooo!!!

Review: Instant approval online but had to call for details. $1500 /0 APR for 15 months 22.99% after that Rewards program 100 after $500 spending in 3 months I think. FICO 681, EQ 655 approved for Citi Diamond Preferred the same day. Extremely happy with results. Still rebuilding. Card not received yet...Also wanted to mention I was turned down for Cap One Cash rewards just two weeks prior for little or no revolving credit and too many mortgages HAHAHA I only have one but I guess that's too many. Oh well thanks Chase

Review: Initially denied but called the reconsideration number and actually spoke to some who spoke clear english. The representive was extremely polite and approved me for a $1,000 credit limit. I have a old collections account on my credit report (2 years ago). I am getting rid of all my low limit cards that I have had for years. I am sick of wasting my time with HSBC and Capital One.

They closed my Slate and opened the Freedom with the same credit line $2,000, and a much lower APR at 14.99%. 0% APR on balance transfers for 12 months, and 0% APR on purchases for 6 months. Credit scores at time of approval are Ex: 661, TU: 679, EQ: 657.

Title: Good Card Until The Intro APR Expires
Date Reviewed: 2011-10-10 16:46:14 | Recommended?: No

Review: I started banking with Chase a year and a half ago when BoA was going to charge me $8.95 for every month that I didn't have a direct deposit. Since I was self-employed, that didn't fly with me. Fortunately around the same time, the lingering memories of my fiscally irresponsible youth had all fallen off my CRs - boosting my score well into the mid 700s - so I decided to apply for this card. Unfortunately, after applying online, I didn't receive an instant decision... I actually figured my application was declined since I got a message that they would mail me a letter with their decision within 14 days. But I logged into my Chase checking account a few days later and saw that I had a new acct for a Chase Freedom Visa w/ a $3K limit. However, I am not in love with my APR after the 6-month 0% intro period: 22.99%. No thanks! In the mean time, I've been using my 0% for balance transfers from other, much higher interest rate cards, as well as purchases that I won't be paying off at the end of each cycle. So far, so good. I already received my first rewards bonus in the form of cash deposited straight into my Chase checking account. The only downside of getting the rewards was that it took ten calendar days for the deposit to post. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with the card - though I wish the intro APR was longer than 6 months... I got this card in July 2011, and just last week (10/6/11) I got a sweet letter from Chase Freedom saying that since I also have a Chase checking account, my points and rewards are now significantly higher than the standard amount for this card. So, instead of 1% cash back, I get 10% extra points for every dollar spent (which means 1 extra point for every $10). It's tricky lingo bc it makes you think it's 10% cash back the way the letter is written, but it's actually 10% extra POINTS. Anyway, I still get 5% total cash back for every $1,500 spent per quarter in the bonus categories, as well as 10 bonus points on every purchase. Basically, it's nothing to write home about - especially considering that Chase implemented this account "upgrade" with little more than one month remaining on my 0% intro APR. Too bad for Chase though, because I just got a Citi Platinum MC with 21 months of 0% interest... So in a month, I'll "chase what matters" and charge it to my Citi Platinum Card, and the impending 22.99% APR Chase Freedom card will go in the file cabinet.

Title: Love It So Far!

Review: I have always been denied for a cc by Chase. I even got approved for an Amex before Chase. I got a pre-approval in the mail and figured "why not". I filled out the invitation form online and was approved. I am the type where I cant wait to get the card to see how much my credit limit was so I called in to the customer service number on the card. I was not happy with a $500 limit when all my other cards are $10,000+. So when I got the card I called in to customer service explaining that I can make payments larger than my credit line and there was no point in having it. So the representative pulled up my credit report from when I had applied. I understood that most instant approvals are done my an automated system but wanted a second look from an actual person. The representative stated that I was right and there was no reason why I didn't deserve a higher credit line. She asked what I would like it raised to. I said well at least match my bank of america credit card at $7,000.. Wa-la! 5 seconds later she said "OK done" Its nice to know that a bank ACTUALLY gives their representatives power! Not just some computer system that NEVER wants to give you an increase! (cough cough Capital one) I am happy with this card so far and the cash back is great! Sorry so long of a review! Great card!

Title: Holy Pre-Approvals Batman!
Date Reviewed: 2011-02-16 16:58:51 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Just the facts: Visa Signature approved 11/2010 Experian: 786 Intro APR: 0% on purchases and balance transfers thru 2/12 Ongoing APR: 11.49% variable Credit Line $7,000 Bonus Offer: 10,000 points redeemable for $100 check after first purchase (no minimum purchase amount). I was instantly approved online for a Chase Freedom Visa Signature in November 2010 with 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers through February 2012; 11.49% thereafter. I used the code contained on a pre-approval mailing to do this. They pulled Experian (the credit Bible) and at the time my FICO was a 786. I was granted a $7,000 credit line (I only found out a few days later because the new account appeared on my online account management page). If you are not already a Chase customer than you will have to wait until the card arrives to learn your limit. The credit line seems a bit low but I also have an existing Chase Slate MasterCard with a $10,000 limit. I am sure with CARD Act rules they used a calculation and determined that the combined credit lines for my income couldn't be more than $17,000-this is just a guess though. The card offers 1% cash back on every purchase as well as a quarterly 5% extra cash back offer on catagories that change just like Citibank and Discover. They even sent a wallet sized card to remind me of each quarter's bonus-but you have to sign up for these each quarter. It is fairly easy. Additionally, with my offer, after my first purchase I was given a bonus 10,000 points that can be redeemed for a $100 check. Word of advice: I seriously received no less than 30 pre-approvals for this card between February 2010 and November 2010 (even through December after I had already been approved). And as time went on, the offers got better. So, if you receive a pre-approval, don't feel like you have to jump on it right away because the terms may just get better as they did for me. Also, Chase never tells you if it is a Visa or MasterCard offer. There is a two letter code on the pre-approval in the bottom left-hand corner above the Good Until date that will tell you what it is: VW is Visa and MW is MasterCard. My offers seemed to change between the two.

Title: Denied! My Bad On Inquires!
Date Reviewed: 2010-08-13 18:30:38 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied for this card online on Aug 8, 2010 and got the "we will contact you in 30 days". Well, I actually got a letter on Friday, Aug 13 (go figure) that basically says had it not been for so many inquiries I would have gotten approved... Learned my lesson the hard way! Oh well... Wonder if it will take two years for some of those inquiries to fall off before I'm considered again. I guess my credit scores have risen, but I won't be able to see the updated scores for another 2 weeks. My bad on this one! No more, No more inquiries... I'll wait on the pre-approvals to hopefully show up in my mailbox!

Title: Chase Slate
Date Reviewed: 2010-08-04 13:40:51 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Actually I applied the Chase Slate but I can't delete the original review for the pre-qualify mail offer. Eventually I got card with 3000 CL (0% APR for a while but I don' t care) and the credit score is Eqi/Exp/Tra = 725/707/709. They pulled Tra and there are 2 hard inquiries in last 12 months. The problem now is, they don't let me switch Slate to Freedom... There are some people here said that it worked even the past several months. I called them before and the answer was positive, too. Anyway, now I have 3k extra credit which I totally don't want to use at all. Anybody here has some better ideas~? Or just keep calling them until there is a representative who's willing to do the "switch" for me. Kind of stupid though... Maybe just close this card and simply apply for Chase Freedom. By the way, now I already have one Discover More, one AMEX Costco and two Citi Forwards. The CLs are between 2~4k. The credit history is about 2.5 yrs. Please don't ask me why there are two Citi Forwards and each with 4k CL. That's another stupid story...(But the Chase Slate is the worst)
