Review: Just called Orchard Bank and answered some security questions and was approved for $500. I filed BK July 2010 and discharged November 2010. The weirdest thing was that I included HSBC Bank( Orchard affiliate ) in my bankruptcy... I guess they gave me a second chance. See ya!!!

Title: Offer Doesnt Apply For PR State

Review: I tried to apply, the application has Puerto Rico on the States list. But when you finally apply for it it says that the offer is not for Puerto Rico residents. Too bad we are blacklisted on their product.

Title: Quick Approval

Review: I did the prequalify thing and this was the only card I qualified for, but when I hit the submit button was instantly approved. My mother couldn't get this one but she got capital one new arrival card. You don't have to be a new immigrant to get this one.

Title: HSBC Platinum Rewards Cash Back MC
Date Reviewed: 2011-02-24 15:48:08 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This card was approved online (used the pre-approval process) in 2005 with an initial credit line of $1,000 and at 9.90% apr as an HSBC Platinum Mastercard and one point for every dollar spent with credit scores of TU 702 EQ 695 EX 705. Note, I started with the Orchard Bank and migrated to Household Bank. Took a chance on the pre-approval process for a real HSBC Platinum Mastercard.

Title: Approved With Low Limit
Date Reviewed: 2011-02-28 23:10:16 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Approved for an Orchard Bank Mastercard back in 02/2010 Card was my first card since dumping first premier. $300 limit and still their at $300 a year later. Worst customer service ever. When you call in csr's are very hard to understand. I called to complain about $74 annual fee is unacceptable rep cut fee in half to $37. Recently card was charged $74 again since it had been a year had to threaten to close in order to get fee cut in half. Word of advice never pay orchard bank their high annual fee first rep I spoke to told me they wouldn't remove the fee told him I want to cancel card then I'm not rich and cant afford outlandish fee American came on reduced fee immediately.

Title: Not Bad, Watch Out On Paying

Review: Got approved, low credit limit(320) only problem is the 2 week hold on your payments. Paid via bank transfer, asked why it wasn't posted, just was told would be a 2 week hold on payments. Anyone have any idea how to avoid this?

Title: Approved Online

Review: Well, its been 9 months since I opened my secured card with Cap One. When I called to see about a credit limit increase or converting it to an unsecured card, their advice was to wait longer. I also have a Public Savings Bank card, but actually was a little bummed to find out that it does not convert to an unsecured card (perhaps I should write a second review on that card). I had been getting pre-qualify offers from Orchard via e-mail. I checked their site and it said I could pre-qualify without actually checking my credit. This is the card I was recommended. I had it once before, 10 years ago now when I was 19. I thought, 'if I apply for this card, I can close my Public Savings Bank card, and use my $500 deposit towards another secured card that actually converts to a non secured card. I have plans for one with Navy Federal. Anyway, I wasn't instantly approved, but received an e-mail today saying that my application had been reviewed. I didn't think that was a good sign. But, was actually approved for $300 and I'm content--my credit is slowly healing. They pulled Equifax. My scores were EX/568 EQ/530 TU/542

Title: 2 Years In With This Card
Date Reviewed: 2011-03-27 13:08:04 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I got this card 2 years ago right after my BK was discharged. I was shocked that HSBC had approved me so soon after my BK since they where included in the BK. My scores when I applied where in the low 500's. My rate is 8.90% fixed on this card and has a $8 per month fee with it ($96) per year. I started with a $300 limit and was increased to $500 after 20 months. My scores are now in the mid to upper 600's and I called HSBC to ask for a lower fee, cli, or other concession and was told I did not qualify for any concessions. Overall this card has served its purpose in helping me to re build my credit after my BK. I am going to be closing this account soon due to the fee.

Review: Welll I got approved for Cap One tonight and thought I would go for broke and try to get an Orchard..no deal except secured. Planning a trip and will use my 300. Limit..at least 30% of it and payoff as soon as I get back before the due date. New to the forum, will post this on the other page to let others know. This is a good place for a fresh start.

Title: Denied
Date Reviewed: 2011-06-26 19:18:05 | Recommended?: No

Review: Transunion is my highest score at 640 and Experian is my lowest at 614. On derogatory record which is an old medical bill from about two years ago that I refuse to pay(out of principal). I gave my account info for the 19.00 and went through the entire process(which I was a bit weary about) only to be denied. I have perfect payment history aside from that one derogatory medical bill. My current creditors will not increase my limits, but I want a larger amount of available credit in my credit report because I am trying to build my credit up to so that I am able to purchase a home within a year or so. I was very disappointed after giving out my bank account info that I was denied. It is not because the funds were not available for the 19.00 either, because my bank account way exceeds that.

Title: Good For Restarting
Date Reviewed: 2011-07-29 20:54:23 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I got this card because my cs was in the mid 500's when I applied...CL sucks, but you can't expect $1,000 CL when restarting Interest rate is crazy high....

Title: Orchard Bank
Date Reviewed: 2011-08-09 08:39:03 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I was initally appproved with a low limit. After 9 months and never a late payment (also no late payments on my credit report for other accounts) and having only gone over 50% of my limit once, still am not eligable for a credit line increase. Otherwise no complaints.

Title: Quick 3-4 Day Answer
Date Reviewed: 2011-08-23 22:36:29 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Experian 560 -- Equifax 539 -- Transunion 513 -- That's my score as of right now. I was approved only $320, but i'm ok with it b/c i ruined my credit before and i'm working to fixing it. I have like 10 collection accounts that need to be paid off, but it's tough and it will be done (i have given myself 1 year to fix this). I have one public record which is a judgment for about $2,700 dollars on a crappy auto loan i did 2 years ago. Ps. The total of all my collection accounts would range about 15,000 but i will be using the settled amount, so i'm guessing about 6,000-8,000 dollars. I have a Target card with 4,000 credit limit that is still open and its at zero, an Municipal Union Credit Card that is about 800 bucks and that one is almost full b/c i use it a lot. I got approved for a Capital One Unsecured Credit Card but they only gave me $300 bucks. I have 2 joint accounts with my sister which i don't use, an American Express Card that has 2,000 bucks and a Macys Amex card that has 8,000 dollars. Yet my credit score still sucks, and the # is super low. So i am trying to pay off my negative accounts then the # should go higher (hopefully).

Title: Ok
Date Reviewed: 2011-09-17 14:40:43 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Its an OK card, HSBC linked thus CL of 5,000 is pathetic. Only reason why I am recommending card is if you do lease/buy GM vehicles the rewards can add up very fast if you PIF. I run lots through this card usually paying off 3-4 times a month. I lease Escalades every year for me and one for my wife so it comes in handy. Other than that I would pass on this card....hopefully when CAPone takes over the portfolio they get better all AROUND.

Title: Approve

Title: I Know The Facts
Date Reviewed: 2011-10-30 04:08:12 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: Although comments on this site say it can never become unsecured, i can tell you from my personal experience that those comments are incorrect. It may have something to do with the poorly trained outsourced customer service reps, because i was told the same thing. In addition, everytime i emailed them, they always seemed to dodge my question concerning that in specific. Ok, here's the part you have been waiting for....look at the exp date on your secured card, shortly after it expires, they send you a new unsecured card increasing your 200 dollar limit to 300 dollars and a short while later, you will receive a letter in the mail giving you the option of letting them hold on to your security deposit, or just with one simple signature from you, sign the dotted line and they will release it back to you. It was very easy and i got my money back fast. Hope this post was helpful. All of this assuming your credit was kept in good standing throughout the 2 years.

Title: Still Waiting For Processing
Date Reviewed: 2011-12-19 12:07:37 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I applied about 6 days ago. I like the preselect offer of approval- previously I was told I could only qualify for a secured card which I never accepted. This time I was approved for unsecured, no information given about interest rate or limit. I was immediately requested provide the $39 annual fee which was no sweat. I received an email 2 days ago stating they are verifying my salary. (good thing I didnt lie) :-). Still have not heard back but I will surely update soon as I hear the final results. Was told 10-14 days. Not in a big hurry for it anyway. Just trying to rebuild and establish revolving credit. Hoping for a decent limit. Recently approved for Amazon $600, Capitol One $300, Wwalmart $250 within the last month. Scores are around 650's. I live in MO. Not quite sure who they pulled yet.

Title: Good Card
Date Reviewed: 2012-01-06 20:37:57 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I don't like the low credit limit, but I do like the fact that there is no annual fee and earns rewards. I pay my account off every month, so I don't even know the interest rate.

Title: Good Card - Don't Be Fooled By Apperances

Review: Applied 8/2011 - Instant Approval $320 limit - 19% APR - 39 annual fee charged on first bill Avg credit score was 540. $60k+ income $150k+ in debt (student loans) 6 derogs 1 judgement No BK Feb 2012 got a CLI for $100. Only carried a balance 2/6 first mos ($150 avg) otherwise, I paid the balance off in full. EXP on March 2012 was 600. No late payments since on any accts since 6/2011. A good rebuilder if you can budget and keep the balance low. Customer service is hit or miss but still friendly, definitely overseas. Payment system is effortless. Hoping to be around 650 avg credit score by Dec 2012. Will probably keep this card for a while.

Review: I have actually had this card for about 2 years and I know it is a capital one card now, though nothing on the card has changed as of yet. I started out with a $300 credit limit and I have a $1100 credit limit as of this month.

Title: Closed And Applied Again Better Results
Date Reviewed: 2013-04-17 02:14:43 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: This product despite popular belief is still very much available for opening. I had an HSBC Platinum C or F and had closed it due to a low limit. (750). I received an invitation to apply (not a preauth) in late 3-2013 and was approved for a $2500 limit with 0 percent and 13.9 thereafter. The customer service rep stated that this HSBC USA product would not be converted into a Capital One acct. That bening said HSBC USA is owned by Capital One. It is just going to be considered a a prime co-branded credit card

Title: Grown Over The Years
Date Reviewed: 2013-11-15 19:29:18 | Recommended?: Yes

Review: I've had the card for a little over 3 years and surprisingly have gone from $5,000 to $13,500 credit limit. Credit limit increases given every 6 months for last year and a half since my credit has improved tremendously. Rewards are average, redeem for movie tickets to dining cards. The new online account is kind of funky, have to go through so many security checks before logging in. Overall definitely a card I hope to keep in my wallet indefinitely.
