Title: My Saga With American Express
Date Reviewed: 2008-09-02 08:11:16 | Recommended?: No

Review: I had e-mailed Amex a few months back to see if I could convert my Blue card to a Clear or a Blue Cash. When Amex responded, they said that I was eligible convert and which one would I like. I chose the Clear. I chose the Clear because after reading all the information, it was a card that would most likely have more benefits to me than the Blue Cash. But my saga began before I converted to the Clear. When I signed in to my account to pay my bill, I had noticed that they had cut my credit limit from $2,000 to $500. That is a $1,500 difference. I called up Amex to see why they had done that. I was told that I have too many inquires and did not like the balance on one of my other cards. I was angry. I had worked hard to pay my balances down but it was not good enough. The $500 limit is a toy limit to me and will not get me far. I was not happy that they cut my limit. Amex is getting only spartan usage until I get some credit line increases.

Review: I got instant online approval. I read someone else's review of this card stating a specific range for "your" credit score required to obtain approval. However I had slightly below what was required and was still approved instantly. I got a CL of 1,500 to start off with. Which isn't bad if you think about it. I have not received the card yet. I am very excited, it seems like a good card. I just have one question. I have heard that American Express is not widely excepted, does anyone know why? Thnx, galxygrl*

Review: I had applied for this card in Aug and was denied. I applied 3 months later and was approved with a FICO score of 674. Its a great card with no fees at all so you are guaranteed to save lots of money. Great customer service. If you need to transfer high balances this is the card to apply for. Amex is the best.

Review: My credit score was about 647 to 688. I applied for this card to save a lot on interest alone, 4.99 for the life of the balance!!! Plus no fees what so ever!!! Transferred several accounts to this card and saved about 70 to 100 dollars a month in finance charges!!! Means more money in my pocket. Customer Service is great too, very friendly!!! Recommended this card to my fiance and saved her money too!
